Born and raised in Oslo, my artistic path was shaped by classical ballet and painting, deeply influencing my connection to perception and the body’s interaction with the world.
My journey led me to Rome, where I directed theater for several years. While immersed in complex productions, I recognized that a solitary artistic process better served my most direct and uncompromised expressive needs. This propelled me towards photography.
I found my true calling in street photography. For me, it’s an intensely body-rooted practice; seeing is a visceral engagement with reality. My camera is an extension, allowing me to fully “be in the world,” focusing on “in-between” moments, the unsayable, and transitions that evoke “dense emptiness.”
After years of street photography in Rome, a new, deeply personal exploration began. The social intensity of urban life, combined with a search for something more, drew me to the Norwegian countryside. This became a defining, multi-year autobiographical and essayistic project centered on my childhood home, blending candid observation with staged “fantasy-memory scenes,” crafted meticulously in front of the lens. I also continue my street photography practice in Oslo.
